Sorry guys,

I should really update my Journal a little more often than I normally do but work has been rather busy recently and Instagram seems to be a fun alternative to letting you guys see my updated work :P

The sun is shining which means one thing....that either the weather is severely screwed up or its officially the start of con season!! :happybounce:
From June 28th to 30th I will set up at the Artist Alley in Qcon XX selling a small range of posters, prints and stickers for all of you guys that love seeing my work

PLUSHIES!

Yeah, one of the main projects Ive been tinkering away with is a plush Cephalopod design that I might be able to sell at future conventions.....*Leaves link below and tiptoes slowly back* :giggle:
Let me know what you guys think so far

Well.......seems I survived the apocalypse :phew:.....a little disappointed I didnt get to slay a single demon or zombie...ah well, maybe next year? :happybounce:

So...stuff lol.

In the past few months my university laptop finally gave up the ghost after 5 years of use with most of my work on it, although me being me, I had everything backed-up on an external hard drive  so Ive been working my butt off and doing some commission work to get a new laptop up and running with all the bells and whistles an illustrator needs :giggle:
In the mean time, Ive been teaching myself how to start using HTML coding in order to build my own website, next up is JAVA and CSS.
Ive also been tinkering away with my traditional art and blowing the dust off my copic markers which Ive barely ever used ^^; so yay to brushing up old art skills while im in work, which seems to be filling up my Instagram page nicely with doodles :P

I hope everyone had an awesome Christmas btw!!

I got to spend mine annoying my sister by giving my nephew nerf guns :lmao: well worth the evil looks during christmas dinner :3

Hopefully within the next week or 2 Ill begin uploading some illustrations and work Ive been tinkering around with just to show I haven't kicked the bucket yet :P oh, and more Cephalopods, definitely more Cephalopods :happybounce:

I hope everyone watching has a very pleasant New Year and Ill begin uploads soon :D

Hey Guys
If you haven't noticed I havent been very active on DA in the past month or 2 and I figured I should write a little journal entry just letting you all know that I havent kicked the bucket :giggle:
I've just been strapped down with a few projects and work thats making it impossible to do anything else.

I was at Qcon XIX, based in Belfast, 2 weeks back and the con overall was fantastic, lots of hyperactive fans, met some lovely new friends and the overall atmosphere of the con was fantastic :D
I had intended to be a part of the Artist Alley for the convention but I ended up getting roped into helping my friend Gareth with his Stall for Replay Games and got to run around taking lots of photos for the Facebook page, so check it out -> www.facebook.com/media/set/?se…

This weekend Ill again be helping Gareth out at Arcadecon down in Dublin so if youre down pop over to the Replay Games booth and say hey :happybounce: , and then the following weekend we'll be attending Brocon (yes I know, 2 conventions in 2 weeks is nuts, blame Gareth :lmao: )

In terms of my artwork, Ive been commissioned for a few illustrations by people for their activities, the most recent one being for me friend Kelly and her wrestling logo, so Ill be updating my gallery soon with some updates, but in the meantime you can check out my twitter and instagram pics in my news feed for WIP photos :)

Thanks alot guys and Ill hopefully be back soon!

Cephalopod of Evil-yness by ObscureGraphics

Other Stuffs :happybounce:

I just finished a week of vacation time from work and I feel truly rested and relaxed at the moment and managed to go see The Muppets with some friends which is rather awesome, if you haven't seen it, find the time and go!!
Ive joined 99designs as way of practising design work using project briefs that aren't my own which I think will be a little challenging since I havent worked on a project in a couple of months now so I think my Hiatus with Graphic Design is over and going to try multi-tasking with illustration and design work just to see how it goes :)
Im also in the mood to start rendering my Cephalopod work into stickers again for some upcoming cons just to see how they do (although they were well received at Q-Con 2011). What do you guys think?

Why is it the first month of the year always seems to just fly in?

So far this month Ive gotten myself a few projects I want to try and get completed in the next couple of months before the new season begins (Spring season, fresh outlook, broadening horizons etc etc)

The main project work I want to get started/ continue with is developing a more traditional style with some of my pieces, I have 2 blank skate decks sitting here in my work area and for the love of me, I cant decide on a design I want to move forward with into the mock-up stage. -faceplam-
Im sure if I make a mistake or don't like how it looks I can always sand the deck down again and start over from scratch :aww: although I really do blame photoshop for making me rusty with working traditionally ^^;

Aside from working traditionally, Ive got a few projects that involve Photoshop, such as editing some photography work for a friend to use with her wrestling promotions and Illustrating a wedding invitation.

I love this kind of varied work because it lets me practice a little bit of everything when I feel like Im getting rusty :)

Busy busy busy -flails-

I went to AkumaKon in Galway from 20th-22nd January, helping my buddy Gareth run his stall Replay Games and overall, I felt the convention was one of the most friendliest atmospheres we've ever been in and the people attending were both friendly, interesting and fun to talk to, which is never a bad thing :meow:
So a big hello to all my newly added watchers!

Over the next couple of weeks, Im going to try and upload a range of work in progress just to be more active on my profile and twitter.

So stay tuned :)
